UPDATES: May 28th, 2021

Dear Planet Parker Families,

The weather is gearing up and so are we over here at Planet Parker! We are thrilled to be providing such an enriching, safe and fun program for your children this summer!

A few notes as we round out the month of May. All of this can be found on the Popsicle site, but I also wanted to get it out to you in this format. More detailed communication will be coming to you the week before your child’s Planet Parker session begins.

  1. COVID-19 Policies: We are a school-based summer program, so we follow NYS K-12 school guidelines. Here is a condensed list of procedures. You can also read the full guidelines here.

  • Daily Health Screening (emailed) and On-Site Temperature Check

  • Face masks to be worn (except during meal times or mask breaks)

  • Hand-washing, hygiene and cleaning

  • Social distancing practices

  • Cohorts/Pods: distinct pods/sessons will not intermix

  • Ventilation: we will be outside as much as possible. While inside, we will have ventilation systems in place.

  1. Vaccination records: Again, we are a school-based summer program so all of the children must have up-to-date vaccination records. If your child does not attend the Parker School, please scan and email us a copy of your child’s vaccination records. Email documents to: [email protected]

  2. Cancellation policy reminder:

    • If a Planet Parker program is cancelled because of a COVID-19 closure, families will receive a full refund or credit towards another week of camp in the summer of 2021 if space permits.

  • If a family cancels while a Planet Parker program is running, our usual Planet Parker cancellation policy applies.

  • The cancellation policy is:

    • Cancellations 2 weeks or more before camp begins: receive a full refund minus a $50 administration fee.

    • Cancellations 2 weeks or less before the program starts are not refunded.

** An individual session may be canceled due to lack of enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. Cancellations will be brought to the attention of all participants as soon as possible and will be fully refunded.

** There are no make-up classes/summer programs for students who are absent for any reason including illness, necessary COVID testing or other circumstances.

  1. Gear: A few things to consider having on hand before your children begin Planet Parker:

  • A swimsuit and towel (for water play)

  • A sturdy water bottle and lunch box

  • Labeled sunscreen

  • Multiple 2-ply face masks

Please reach out to me with any questions and I look forward to seeing your children on the Parker Campus very soon!

We founded Planet Parker in 2008 to cultivate love of learning year round. Our summer program is an outgrowth of our integrated, interdisciplinary curriculum and project-based learning program.

Participants select from several programs during the nine and a half week summer program. Even preschoolers have a place at Parker during the summer in our preschool “Parker Planeteers” program. No matter the theme for the week, all participants have time for outdoor play and water play each day. Planet Parker runs from 9am to 3:45pm each day.
