Story Samples:
"Such an amazing school! What makes Parker School different? Children here learn by doing, not memorizing, and very often this learning takes place outside on Parker’s beautiful campus. Students are encouraged to ask questions, think creatively and critically, and explore their passions. The incredible teachers encourage confidence, kindness, and social responsibility. My child is thriving and we love our Parker family!"
"In June, my family and I moved to the Capital Region from New York City, where our children previously attended a well-regarded progressive K-8 independent school in downtown Manhattan. In the past five months at Parker, all of our expectations for an exceptional progressive education have been exceeded. Our children return home from school each day bubbling over with excitement, sharing details with us about the active, interdisciplinary projects happening in the classrooms and on the incredibly vast Parker campus. We feel great confidence that the academic curriculum at Parker is developing independent, critical thinkers who are empathetic to others and actually love learning, setting them apart from other students and opening the doors for real success in high school and in life. It should also be noted my children have not yet missed one in-person day of learning this academic year (don’t tell our city friends!), thanks to the extremely well thought-out planning and precautionary actions taken by the school administration during the COVID crisis. Guidelines have been followed and we have felt safe and supported during this unprecedented time. We could not be more thrilled and excited to have discovered the incredibly special Parker community this year which we believe is a true asset to the Capital Region."
"The Parker experience is transformative. My daughter was struggling to see herself as a student, never raised her hand in class, and was quiet so was easy to fall off a teacher's radar. Not at Parker, they have met her at her developmental stage at every level, and now she is a proud participant, and comes home every day excited to share what SHE did in school that day! Thank you Parker teachers!"
